Archie

Archie is passionate about the importance of mental health and self-care. She sees clients of all ages with a range of presentations, such as: anxiety, social anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, suicide prevention, grief and loss.

Approach

  • Predominantly Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) focused. 
  • Depending on the needs of the client, utilises Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). With children and adolescents, she utilises emotion focused work and emotional regulation.
  • Archie works with the client to understand their presenting issues through a collaborative formulation to better improve their quality of life.

Background

Prior experience

Archie has gained experience working with children and adolescents through her work at Child Protection, Shepparton/Box Hill and her placement at Greater Shepparton Secondary College, Wanganui Campus. She has completed training relating to childhood trauma and attachment through Child Protection. She continues to volunteer with the Anxiety Recovery Centre, Victoria (ARCVIC) as a phone counsellor. She also has research experience through her work at the Deakin University Cognitive Neuroscience Lab.
